I guess I am a Green Bean according to Green Bean Endurance's definition, so changed the name of the blog again. Comments/thoughts are appreciated :)

About this blog

This blog is intended to be a journal that will chronicle my journey from casual rider into (hopefully) an endurance rider. My main goal is to compete in multi-day 50s; currently I have no desire to go higher than that. I have appreciated other bloggers' honesty when it comes to their mistakes, so I will document both progress and setbacks.

The main star of this blog is Ruby Bloom, a 2000-2003 model rescued Araloosa mare that I was lucky enough to meet in November 2013. I know very little of her history except that she has had no formal training, she was supposedly roped using barb wire at some point (explains all the wire cuts and her notched ear?), and she once double-barrel kicked her last owner in the chest. It turns out that under the rough exterior, there was a great horse. She's opinionated, brave, and trustworthy and I wouldn't trade her for anything.
